Boundless D8 | No Bottom Bar Baby Gate for Stairs

We love it! We were using a regular wooden baby gate that we had to take down every time we went down the hallway. It got annoying. I finally broke it lol. I didn’t want to put holes in the wall's, but we had to. This is for our cat. Yes I said our cat lol. Even though she can jump over it, she doesn’t. She knows when it’s closed she’s not suppose to be back there. I like how it opens all the way both directions. In the picture and video u will notice on the right side towards the bottom there is a place where you can put another latch to secure it more, but once again I didn’t want to put any more holes in the walls than need be and our cat can’t fit through there anyway so.

Solid construction and feels good 3 weeks into deployment.

We had to rig the installation since gate was installed on the spindles of the stairs. It has proven to be very effective and sturdy. Requires a slight lift of the gate to open but not an issue.

Perfect!!! I bought this for my Mother for her birthday, to replace her old dog gate that had come apart. It was very easy to install and it is perfect for her needs. She loves it! My mom is handicapped, so I wanted her gate to be safe for her to walk-though. This gate does not have a bar at bottom, which makes is so much safer than other gates. This gate is top quality, very sturdy, and very attractive. I highly recommend this product. I will post a photo later today.

This fit perfectly in my foyer to the front door. I'd tried a couple of other expansion gates and all too short. This one keeps the dogs away from the door and smooth opening to allow practical entry to the garage or into the house.

Poor design. The wall mounts are very rigid and do not give in a way that allows for the lifting up on the gate required to open it without stress on those connections. Mine pulled out of the wall only after trying it a couple times after installation. Now I have a wall to repair.

Our bulldog would break through every rigging we came up with and I thought it was time to try something that would work. This gate is fantastic! I secured the gate by drilling into studs. It’s working out great and looks so much nicer than items we’d block the doorway with! I’m thrilled with my purchase!!!

I put this gate up to keep my dogs isolated in the kitchen when I am away from home. It is very sturdy, stays open when needed, and opens with one hand. Installation is easy, the instructions and included hardware are great. It’s easy to adjust for width. Overall, this gate may seem a little expensive, but I am very impressed with it and feel that it will last a long time.

I selected this product because it doesn’t have the bottom bar which is a tripping hazard. It seems well made and the white color blends nicely with my stairway railings, which are painted white. It does take some time to install. If either wall or railing isn’t level, the gate won’t close properly without making several adjustments. I’ve seen several customer complaints about gate not locking securely, likely because of this issue. There are small spacers that are included that help with that problem. I’ve now installed three of these at the top of my stairs.

The gate itself is very nice and functions great, but the instructions are a little vague (doesn't show how to extend the gate to make it wider or explain how the latch itself opens) and the impossible to peel off warning stickers really ticked me off and made the whole thing look tacky.

This is a great baby gate for our stairs. I love how it pulls out. I was very adamant I didn’t want a baby gate with a bottom bar cause I was worried about tripping over one while carrying the baby, laundry or anything else from upstairs. This was the best gate I found that fit that profile. It was pretty easy to install! I was able to do it myself (and I’m usually terrible at this kind of thing). I was able to screw the screws right into the wood beams. Overall super good value for the what the cost and I feel comfortable that these will keep locked for both my baby and my big dogs!

I give this gate a 5 because we have used it on a wide door opening for 11 months. It has stood the test of time, heavy use, and a very strong 45 lb chow chow. We like that there is no threshold bar and that it self closes well. If there is a down side (not an issue for us) is that it does slide back with a lot of use and the gate easily opens with a slight push. We fixed that issue with an easy fix. Once we set the width just right, we set a stop with tape and issue was solved. No more sliding. (See pic). We don’t have a problem recommending this gate. If small children are a concern and height like the top of a staircase, you might choose a gate with a much safer locking mechanism. For.example, my niece was an escape artist by the age of 2-3. Keyed locks were needed for her at all danger zones.

Yes! Major upgrade! I had a tension based one for the longest time, and it had its good and bad features. This one is much easier to maintain, allows for use of the full width of the doorway, and since it's mounted with three or so inches of clearance at the bottom, my roomba can pass through but my hounds can't!

I'm using it for dogs and it works fine. It's a little annoying to have to lift the gate a bit but the dogs will never figure it out or be able to do it. Pretty easy to install.

Fantastic gates. I purchased 3 of these for our deck around our house in GA. They are definitely child proof and dog proof. Sometimes even people proof. You must pull up on the gate to release it. As long as you know to do that it opens easily--if not--someone could be there a while before figuring it out.

Quality is excellent. Very sturdy for their weight and size. I highly recommend them. Although, ask me again after next winter. I have nonidea how the weather will affect them. I believe they will last many years.

I'm very comfortable working with tools so this was an easy install for me. The space installed at extended the gate to its max. Gate works well and is quite strong.
